1. General
Thank you for choosing AKRURA PTE LTD, operating under the developer account name "QR Code Scanner." ("we", "us", "our"). We are committed to maintaining customer privacy through an ethical performance culture that is based on trust, simplicity and confidence. It is one of our core principles to secure customer information while using our mobile applications Find My Friends: Phone Tracker ("the app"), and provide privacy protection that is critical in maintaining trust and providing better services.
Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we handle it. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please refrain from downloading or using this app. By downloading or using the app, you agree to abide by this privacy policy.
2. Data Collection and Usage
Location Data
The core purpose of the app is to let people share their location with each other. We collect precise (GPS) location from the device of a user who chooses to share their location (the “shared device”), and we upload it to our servers so the people they have linked with can see it on the map, and so we can provide the location-history feature.
Background Location
To keep locations up to date, the app collects location from a shared device in the background — that is, even when the app is closed or not in use. Background location is only collected from a device that is sharing its location; a user who only views others’ locations does not have background location collected. You can stop background collection at any time by turning off location sharing or revoking the location permission in your device settings.
Information You Provide
If you contact us or send feedback, we collect your email address and anything you include in the message. If the app lets you set a display name or nickname for sharing, we also collect that name.
Device and Log Data
When you use the app, we automatically collect your device type and device identifier (to deliver the right version and provide support), and log data such as IP address, device name, operating-system version, app configuration, and the date and time of use (collected via third-party tools, mainly to diagnose errors).
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand traffic and usage trends — how often the app is used and which screens are viewed — to improve the app. Google Analytics is a Google service and receives this data. See https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Application Permission Requirements
To enable certain functionalities, the app requires the following on your device:
LOCATION - This permission is required to accurately track your locations to display location data on the map page and locate each other between users.
ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION - When you require our app to provide more precise locations and physical activity data, this permission must be acquired.
BATTERY OPTIMIZATION - This permission enables that battery conserving doesn't disrupt app activity and ensures uninterrupted reporting of location data during the app's background state.
Advertising
We show ads in the app using Google AdMob. To do this, AdMob and Google may collect and use your device’s advertising identifier and related information to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted. This means some information is shared with Google for advertising purposes.
You can limit ad personalization or reset your advertising identifier in your device settings. Learn more about AdMob and your choices at https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543.
3. Data Transfer
Your information may be transferred to, stored and processed in countries other than your own, where data-protection laws may differ. Where we do this, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) in line with applicable law.
4. Disclosure of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:
Service Providers: We may share information with trusted third-party service providers that support the operation of the App, such as cloud hosting, analytics, customer support, and infrastructure services. These providers are authorized to use the information only as necessary to provide services to us.
Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required to do so by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
Protection of Rights and Safety: We may disclose information where necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the App, or others, including detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, or security issues.
Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
5. Data Security and Storage
We use generally accepted safeguards to protect your data in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep your information only for as long as necessary to provide the app and to fulfill the purpose set out in this Policy, and for any longer period required to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements. Shared-location and location-history data is kept while you use the location-sharing feature and is deleted or anonymized once it is no longer needed for that purpose. Email and support correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle your request.
6. User’s Rights
We provide the following rights to help you protect your data. These rights are available to our users worldwide, and residents of certain regions may have additional rights under local law.
- the purpose for which the data was collected has been fulfilled;
- the data has been processed unlawfully;
- you have withdrawn your consent and there is no other legal basis for the processing;
- you have successfully objected to the processing;
- we are required to delete the data under EU law or the law of an EU member state that applies to us.
We honor these rights regardless of your location and apply consistent safeguards to protect your data. If you have any questions about these rights or would like to exercise any of them, please contact us by email.
7. External Links
Our Service might incorporate hyperlinks to other websites. Upon accessing a linked external site, you acknowledge that it is beyond our operational purview. Accordingly, we encourage reviewing the specific websites’ Privacy Policies. 8. Age Restriction
The app is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. Because the app is a family locator, an adult may link and locate a minor’s device — if you do, you confirm that you are that minor’s parent or legal guardian, or have the guardian’s consent, and you are responsible for that minor’s use. If you believe a child has given us information without guardian consent, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Updates to the Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we do, we will update the effective date above, and we will notify you of significant changes in the app or by other reasonable means. We also encourage you to periodically review the privacy policy for the latest information on our privacy practices.
